About Christy

My name is Christy Diane Farr and I am the unruly woman. It is my heart’s mission to help women change their lives.

I am thrilled you are here!

How do I do this?

By being honest. By building authentic relationships. By building an unruly community. By being vulnerable. By telling stories. By being human. By listening to my heart.

Professional Bio (which I find utterly boring)

What’s “normal” feels too formal and doesn’t capture the most powerful parts of my story. Yes, I have a degree. Yes, I went to school to learn to be a life coach. Yes, I’m a published writer, I belong to relevant professional organizations, and I’ve collaborated with oodles of extraordinary women over the last seven years.

And sure, these statistics are important but only in that they represent the experiences that carried me home to the truth of who I am. These are but a handful of the many pieces woven into the fabric of life and frankly, I prefer to collaborate with women who want to know about my unruly bits because that is what makes it possible for me to do this thing I do.

Unruly Bio (the important stuff)

What makes me an Unruly Woman?

It’s the same as what makes you an Unruly Woman. You are unlike the others. You rebel against convention. You care more about doing what’s true than what society says you “should” be doing. You not only dance to the beat of your own drum, you probably built it with your own two hands.

The road you traveled to this moment was both heartbreaking and holy. You know that even mistakes and traumas masterfully crafted you into the woman you are today. You love with your entire being, even when it shatters you. You are creative, passionate, connected, and vibrant but when any of the sacred pieces of your soul remain unexpressed, you are not okay.

The ache to live your truth consumes you. I understand all of this because it’s my truth, too.

I love to dig in the dirt and hope to never stop feeling profound awe that actual food grows from the unidentifiable nubs I bury in the community garden each spring.

I am a priestess who seeks the divine in people, spaces, and experiences of every day life.

I am an artist. My partner and I co-create sacred art out of rusty metal and scrap wood we collect from the streets of Minneapolis. I love the earth and her people so deeply they take my breath away.

I am a storyteller who cultivates healing with my dance, my voice, and the written word.

My family, my heart, my support . . .

I am a mother to two nearly grown humans. I am madly in love with a beautiful woman who is my equal in every way and who demands that I live my truth. I’m wild about the people I love and I strive to suck way less at staying connected to them.

How can I help?

The Unruly Woman is both my heart’s work and my full-time job. My workshops, small groups, and private collaborations take place by phone, Skype, email, and (for the phone-loathing introvert among us) instant message. I also hold space for an ever-expanding community of Unruly Women to connect and support one another online and in-person in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You can learn much more about the work that I do over here in my blog.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Without you none of this would be possible.
