Unruly Essentials: Reclaim Your Chill (Releasing Triggers)

Cars that speed down the road in front of my house. When marketers tell people who don’t know better that toxic products or ideas are healthy.  When people touch others without permission. Being lied to by people I thought I could trust. Excusing violence as discipline. When what I feel from someone doesn’t match what they are saying. Those who bitch (especially on social media) but don’t actually want to change. 

This list used to be a million miles long. I felt like I was always being yanked around by the people in my world. It took a while but eventually (read: 20 years later), I realized that I was being yanked around by my emotional reactions to all of that bullshit.

I am, my reactions are, the one and only problem.

Or at least, me and my reactions are the only part of the problem that I have the ability to control.

I only have one way to reclaim my chill and it’s not waiting for everyone around me to act right. I have to figure out how to get off the merry-go-round, to unhook the triggers and free myself from the madness. If I want to feel better, I have to do the work around triggers and heal these old wounds.

And if you want to feel better, too, November can be a life-changing month. I don’t have all of the answers. I don’t have your answers. But I do have my own answers and I can show you how to find yours.

So, yeah, that’s something worth sharing.

In November, the Unruly Essentials theme is Reclaim Your Chill, which is all about exposing and releasing emotional triggers. Join this sacred sisterhood for a four-week exploration of your needs and desires, and to move through the resistance that’s kept you from loving you the way you deserve to be loved.

What is Unruly Essentials?
We aren’t living the kind of reality that allows dozens of women to need the exact same information, inspiration, and support to find their life purpose, learn to love their bodies, heal relationships, and make home their happy place.

Every woman comes here at a different point in her journey with whatever area of life she is coming here to heal. She needs to take whatever her next steps are true for her. Sometimes she needs a moment to even figure out what constitutes the best next steps!

And on top of that whole every-woman-needs-her-own-path bit, we are all facing challenges in some of the same areas of life where we all struggle. So instead of me positioning myself as the expert on all of the many things you come here to heal, I’m going to hold space for you to become more masterful at being you… one piece at a time!

Unruly Essentials is a series of month-long intensives to help you dig into all of the areas of your life ONE at a time with a priceless sisterhood of Unruly Women who are also focused on healing the same in their lives.  Join us when the topic resonates — time, space healing, life purpose, relationships, etc. — and continue independently (or in the Deep Dive Circle) during months when the topic doesn’t feel true for you.

These intensives will certainly have some of the workshop-y elements that worked for us in the past. I’ll share prompts, invitations, information, and resources just like before. But also, we’re making more space for you to put on the table what isn’t working for you. I want to have time to connect with everyone and help you move forward.

Private Sessions are an incredible way to make the most of your healing journey, so I’ve created packages that include 1, 2, 3, or 4 private sessions for only $50 each. NOTE: They must be used during the month in question, so I will reach out to you for scheduling after you register.

Like all of the work I do, this series is about releasing the bullshittery that keeps you from treating yourself with love and respect — old wounds, unproductive coping mechanisms, archaic habits,  and relationships with people, stuff and ideas that no longer serve you. It’s designed to help you pause on one topic long enough to dig deeper enough to cultivate long-term and sustainable change.

We will begin each Unruly Essentials intensive on the first Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted). We will have group calls on Wednesdays at 8:30 pm Central. All calls will be recorded for anyone who is registered but cannot attend. And we will connect in a closed Facebook group throughout the workshop.

What would you say to someone who is struggling?
I’d say the thing I always say. It doesn’t have to be this way.

You have the power to heal your heart and your body. You are in control of your life and you deserve support while you cultivate the change you desire.

What are private sessions?
You can learn more about them here. They are deeply discounted for students because private sessions are an incredible compliment to this intensive experience. In fact, I’ve considered (and my still at some point), raise the cost to include at least one private session because the difference is HUGE. For now, I’m going to leave it as is to keep it accessible for most budgets but want to encourage you to include at least one session if it’s possible.
