Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Statement
This work is rooted in justice, not neutrality.
The Unruly Woman is committed to creating spaces that actively resist harm and support people who are most often excluded. This work is shaped by the understanding that neutrality often maintains harm — and that care, accountability, and equity require intention.
I welcome and affirm people across identities, including (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodivergence, body size, age, religion, and socioeconomic background.
What this means in practice
These values are not abstract. They show up in how I work, how I hold space, and how I respond when things don’t go perfectly.
In practice, this includes:
-
Anti-racist and anti-oppressive values informing my work.
-
Naming power dynamics rather than pretending they don’t exist
-
Respecting lived experience alongside professional training
-
Not expecting clients to educate me about their identities
-
Addressing harm when it occurs, rather than minimizing or dismissing it
I recognize that impact matters more than intent.
Ongoing commitment
I don’t believe any space is perfectly safe — but I am committed to creating spaces that are accountable, responsive, and repair-oriented.
This work is not finished. I continue to learn, unlearn, seek feedback, and invest in education that challenges me to do better — personally and professionally.
If something here feels off, you’re invited to name it. Accountability matters more to me than comfort.
